The Palamós Producers’ Organisation (OPP) is taking part in the Scientific Forum on Spanish Fisheries in the Mediterranean, held in Motril on 22 and 23 September. The event brings together professionals and experts from the Mediterranean fisheries sector and presents different studies and projects related to the management of fisheries resources.
Throughout the forum, topics such as biological data collection, digitalisation and artificial intelligence applied to fisheries, monitoring systems, fisheries governance and the assessment of pressures on marine ecosystems are being addressed.
The programme also includes specific sessions on the evolution of trawl fleets, fishing effort, the socioeconomic impact of measures applied to the sector, and different fisheries management models in the Mediterranean.
Taking part in the forum allows the OPP of Palamós to gain first-hand insight into current research and projects being developed in the Mediterranean, in a context where data generation, scientific knowledge and fisheries management are playing an increasingly important role.
