The Palamós OPP took part in the Tuna Conference organised by the Sant Feliu de Guíxols Fishermen’s Guild and the GALP Costa Brava on 5th October. This event, which brought together fishermen, experts and representatives of the sector, focused on the promotion of bluefin tuna as a highly valued local product and on the importance of the sustainable management of marine resources.

The day began with speeches by the President of the GALP Costa Brava, highlighting the fundamental role of bluefin tuna in the fishing economy of the Catalan coast. This was followed by the theoretical training, which addressed relevant aspects such as the presentation of the Bluefin brand and the use of monitoring technologies to guarantee controlled and environmentally friendly fishing.

At midday, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a tasting of bluefin tuna, which highlighted its flavour and culinary versatility. The day was rounded off with a second training session focused on the challenges and opportunities of the fishing sector.

The active participation in these workshops reinforces the commitment of the Palamós OPP to the preservation of marine resources and support for fishermen in the area.
