The Palamós Fisheries Producers Organisation (OPP) is launching a new edition of the Basic Safety Training course, aimed at providing the essential knowledge required to work safely on board and respond effectively to possible emergency situations at sea.

The course will take place from September 8 to October 15, 2026, at the Casa del Mar in Palamós, and is intended for people interested in starting or developing their career within the fishing sector.

During the training, participants will learn key aspects related to sea survival, fire prevention and firefighting, workplace safety, and first aid, acquiring the basic skills needed to work in the maritime and fishing industries.

The course costs €23.75 and includes 3 days of practical training at the Port of Tarragona, as well as two free overnight stays at the Casa del Mar in Tarragona.

With this initiative, OPP Palamós continues to promote training and professionalisation within the fishing sector, helping to ensure a safer, better-prepared and more professional activity.
