The fishing sector of Palamós and the wider Catalan coastline has taken part in the Seafood Expo Global, during a strategic event held at the Generalitat de Catalunya’s stand to highlight local fishing and a responsible management model.

The Palamós OPP-91 participated in this space as an active member of the Catalan producers’ organisations, helping to showcase the work of the fleet and the value of local seafood products.

During the event, several initiatives related to local development were presented, including projects promoted through the GALP (Grups d’Acció Local Pesquers), which play a key role in the economic development and sustainability of coastal areas.

The importance of collaboration within the sector was also highlighted through the screening of a collective video featuring all Catalan OPPs, demonstrating their shared commitment to a high-quality and sustainable fishing model.

The event concluded with a live showcooking by chef Quim Casellas, who prepared dishes using seasonal products such as white prawn, sardine and squid, showcasing the quality and culinary versatility of Catalan seafood.

Participation in Seafood Expo Global strengthens the promotion strategy of Palamós seafood products and reinforces the role of OPP-91 in supporting a competitive, sustainable and territory-based fishing sector.
