The Palamós Fisheries Producers Organisation (OPP) has taken part in the TV programme Aquí la Tierra on 2CAT, in a feature aimed at showing the reality of the fishing sector and the value of locally sourced products.
The programme brought together different perspectives of the sector, from the daily work of fishermen at the port and on board the vessels to the culinary side at Espai del Peix, where the product is prepared and its value is highlighted.
During the report, professionals from the sector were given a voice, including fisherman Miquel Ferrés, who explained first-hand the day-to-day reality of the trade, as well as local representatives who provided context on the Palamós fishing model.
This type of programme helps bring the fishing sector closer to the public and strengthens awareness of local products and the profession, both key elements in ensuring the future of fishing in the area.
