The Palamós Fishery Producers’ Organisation (OPP) took part in the first meeting of the Blue Economy Collaborative Action Group (GAC) of the Baix Empordà region, held on 25 November in La Bisbal d’Empordà. The OPP was represented by Cristina Mañas, manager of the Confraria de Pescadors de Palamós and of the OPP.

The session brought together local institutions and stakeholders to discuss territorial priorities related to the blue economy and to present projects linked to marine innovation, sustainable economic development and responsible fisheries management.
During the meeting, the OPP highlighted the essential role of the professional fishing sector in driving the local economy, creating employment and generating added value for the region.

Joining the GAC will enable the OPP to work in coordination with public bodies and local actors, share knowledge and contribute to the development of strategic projects that strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of the fishing sector within the framework of the blue economy.
